The Fitzwilliam Malton Estate welcome new building surveyor
Introducing Emma Parsons, who starts with the Fitzwilliam Malton Estate as Building Surveyor.
Emma brings a broad range of experience to the Estate, having worked in both consultancy and client-side roles during her career as a Chartered Building Surveyor.
Before joining the Estate, Emma spent more than seven years with the Anglican Diocese of Leeds as a Property Manager and Diocesan Surveyor, looking after properties across the Ripon Episcopal area. The role gave her a valuable understanding of the particular challenges facing rural communities, alongside experience of a diverse property portfolio ranging from traditional stone buildings to more modern 20th-century properties and early eco-housing.
Originally from a small commuter town just north of Wellington in New Zealand, Emma has since lived in Japan, London, Nottingham and, for the past 19 years, Leeds. The opportunity to return to a smaller town environment – and to be closer to both the countryside and the coast – was an important part of the appeal of joining the Fitzwilliam team in Malton.
As she settles into her new role, Emma is looking forward to getting to know the Estate’s tenants and regular contractors, building relationships across Malton and becoming involved in an increasing range of projects.
