Livestock markets have been part of life in Malton for almost 300 years.

First held in 1728 next to St Michael’s Church, the market moved to its current location in 1826 and continues to hold twice weekly markets for cattle and sheep. Auctions are held by Malton Livestock Auctioneers - a working partnership between Cundalls and Boulton and Cooper.

On Friday 2nd October, the annual Michaelmas show and sale of breeding sheep will take place in Malton. Once marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of a new agricultural year, Michaelmas continues to reflect Malton’s proud farming heritage.

With huge thanks again to our drone pilots Deaglan Hunter Blair and William Hogg for this super footage!
