A long-term commitment to Malton

The Fitzwilliam Malton Estate’s support for Malton is practical and sustained.
In 2011, the Estate created the Malton Amenity CIC, known as Visit Malton CIC, to promote the town, support local businesses and help establish Malton as a distinctive visitor destination. Visit Malton operates as a separate Community Interest Company (CIC), with its own constitution and responsibilities, while continuing to be underwritten by the Fitzwilliam Malton Estate. Visit Malton CIC is also supported by the Earl Fitzwilliam Charitable Trust (which supports initiatives benefiting communities connected to the Fitzwilliam Estates in Malton, Milton, Wentworth and Nantclwd).
Most rural market towns share the same ambitions: to attract visitors, support independent businesses, increase footfall and build a strong identity. The creation of Visit Malton CIC has provided (and still provides!) a dedicated
destination organisation, backed by a multi-generational landowner who invests heavily in the town - this offers Malton a fairly unique position and one we think is worth recognising.
The Estate’s contribution is not only financial. It is a long-term commitment to creating the conditions in which Malton can prosper: supporting promotion, encouraging footfall, investing in place and helping local businesses benefit from a stronger collective voice.
Over the past 15 years, Visit Malton has worked throughout the year to put the town on the map, promote local businesses and deliver practical initiatives for the town centre.
