The west side of Malton Market Place has become an even better place to hold an outdoor
event, thanks to the installation of a new power supply specifically for outdoor use.
The cost of almost £3000 has been funded 50% each by Yorkshire Forward and the Fiztwilliam Estate. The overall project has been managed by the Malton and Norton Area Partnership, working with the Fitzwilliam Estate, North Yorkshire County Council and Ryedale District Council.
The west side power supply is based on the success of the power cabinet installed in the east of the Market Place by the Fitzwilliam Estate in September last year. It comprises a portable distribution system and a fixed, higher capacity, system. These options give flexibility of supply depending on the location, type and size of outdoor event being held.
The portable distribution system allows a power supply to be taken from points in St Michael’s Church and the Milton Rooms. The distribution equipment is also fully compatible with the cabinet based, higher capacity, supply.
Roddy Bushell, estate manager at the Fitzwilliam Estate says: “Malton Market Place has hosted many events from music concerts to motor shows. The new power supply makes it an even more attractive place for events.
