Malton and Norton A64 Junctions Action Group
Welcome
What is the Malton and Norton A64 Junctions Action Group?
- The group is made up of civic, business and community leaders from the Malton and Norton area. These include Ryedale District Council, North Yorkshire County Council, the Malton and Norton Partnership, Malton Town Council, Norton Town Council, the Fitzwilliam (Malton) Estate, road safety groups, and local emergency services.
Why has the group been formed?
- The group has been formed to campaign to improve access to and from the A64 Malton bypass
- Currently junctions at each end of the bypass only allow limited access to and from to and from the A64 which means a large amount of traffic has no choice but to travel through Malton and Norton
- This raises serious issues in terms of health and safety and increasing congestion may stifle future development
- The group will work in partnership with both residents and businesses in the area to try and raise the profile of the situation and encourage central government support for improving the junctions.
How can I be involved?
- Businesses in Malton and Norton have already been contacted about the work of the group and have added their support to the campaign.
- If your business would like to add its support please write to Hilary Bridgmout Junctions Action Group, c/o Ryedale District Council, Ryedale House, Malton.
- Malton and Norton residents can also be involved either by attending group meetings or by writing to Hilary Bridgmount Junctions Action Group, c/o Ryedale District Council, Ryedale House, Malton.
- Continue to check out this website for any updates on the situation and for dates of meetings.
